Beatrice
Watford-Tyson
is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor through
the following national organizations: Aerobic and Fitness Association
of America (AFAA), East Coast Alliance (ECA), International Sports Conditioning
Association (ISCA). She currently does personal training at 175 Fulton Avenue, Hemstead, New York and has taught Gospelcisekick at New York Sports Clubs and Hansborough Recreational
Center in Harlem, NY. She is strongly committed to helping people make
their lives longer, healthier, and happier. She specializes in cardio-kickboxing,
total body conditioning and boxing. She trains her clients in aerobic
and anaerobic phases of a total body workout and uses a variety of techniques
combining interval training with full-body resistance workouts that
continually challenge and motivate her clients. Seeing improvements
in her clients' coordination and confidence with each session is one
of her biggest rewards . "I believe in pushing my clients to accomplish
more than they believed possible, while taking every precaution for
safety and proper biomechanics. Working out (either with or without
a trainer) should be fun, interesting, challenging, and goal-oriented.
I abide by this philosophy with both client and my own workouts. I strive
to make all my clients comfortable and at ease in the gym, not feeling
intimidated by the sophisticated equipment." She enjoys working
with both men and women clients to clarify and meet their health and
fitness goals.
Beatrice comes from
a very large family, four brothers and 10 sisters. Her parents raised
all of them in the church. Her father, Reverend George D. Watford (deceased)
was her inspiration, and she is proud to say she's a "preacher's
kid." "Being brought up in the church and knowing Christ for
my personal Savior is the best thing that could ever have happened to
me." Following her father's footsteps, she introduces GospelciseKick
with her mission to promote both spiritual and physical fitness for
the glory of God. She is proud of her ministry and has great plans for
it in the near future.
Each year Beatrice
attends ECA's National Fitness Convention and there completes seminars
in postural analysis, exercise analysis, advanced exercise physiology;
power strike, aerobics, and she is currently stacking up on more certifications.
Beatrice is preparing
to train for women's bodybuilding competitions. This will be her first
time down this avenue, but looks forward to the discipline involved
for the competitiveness and challenge.
