Gospelcisekick Instructors

Beatrice Watford-TysonBeatrice Watford-Tyson is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor through the following national organizations: Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), East Coast Alliance (ECA), International Sports Conditioning Association (ISCA). She currently does personal training at 175 Fulton Avenue, Hemstead, New York and has taught Gospelcisekick at New York Sports Clubs and Hansborough Recreational Center in Harlem, NY. She is strongly committed to helping people make their lives longer, healthier, and happier. She specializes in cardio-kickboxing, total body conditioning and boxing. She trains her clients in aerobic and anaerobic phases of a total body workout and uses a variety of techniques combining interval training with full-body resistance workouts that continually challenge and motivate her clients. Seeing improvements in her clients' coordination and confidence with each session is one of her biggest rewards . "I believe in pushing my clients to accomplish more than they believed possible, while taking every precaution for safety and proper biomechanics. Working out (either with or without a trainer) should be fun, interesting, challenging, and goal-oriented. I abide by this philosophy with both client and my own workouts. I strive to make all my clients comfortable and at ease in the gym, not feeling intimidated by the sophisticated equipment." She enjoys working with both men and women clients to clarify and meet their health and fitness goals.

Ella Hickland is a group fitness instructor for the following national organizations: Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and Madd Dogg Athletics. She currently does aerobic class instruction at Gospelcisekick™ and Lucille Roberts Club on Long Island, New York. She is a certified Spinning instructor at World Gym in Wantagh, New York.

She has been running in the Long Island Half Marathon for the past three years. This year she is looking forward to another Half Marathon on Long Island, as well as a second in Alaska. Her hobbies include gardening, hiking on nature trails, fishing, camping, crocheting and traveling.

Ella has always had an interest in maintaining good health. Ten years ago she undertook a physical fitness program to mitigate the effects of menopause. She realized exercising was the greatest medication and it was free and non-addictive. In 2003 she met Beatrice Watford-Tyson who became Ella’s mentor instilling the spiritual and physical connection making her feel complete and capable of leading others.

Her goal is to teach others how to make exercise fun, safe and effective and part of maintaining good health.

Ella hails from South Carolina where she was one of two girls in a family of nine siblings. She settled on Long Island in 1972 where she met her husband Ed who has been an inspiration in her life. Ed has always been very health conscious which has been an encouragement to Ella.

Her goals for 2007 are to acquire aqua training certification and personal training certification. She constantly is looking for new and better ways to exercise by attending workshops and seminars in order to help others in their quest for better health.
